About
The Chabad movement was created in 1797 by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Lyadi. In 1950, following the death of his father-in-law, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, born April 18, 1902 in Nicolaïev, Ukraine, became for his faithful the Rebbe or Rebbe of Lubavitch. Known to be the seventh heir of the HaBaD Hassidism dynasty, he would become one of the spiritual leaders of world Judaism.
During his lifetime, the Lubavitch Rebbe encouraged the spread of Judaism throughout the world, and acted to create a network of institutions for Jewish studies and Torah teaching.
Today there are more than 5,000 institutions around the world.
The 770 Eastern Parkway is a building located in the Crown Heights neighborhood of New York. It is the very symbol of the Chabad movement, as it was the home of Rabbi Yossef Itzchok Schneersohn and then of the great Lubavitch rabbi, Menachem Mendel Schneerson.

Tzedakah
One of the key elements that makes a house "Jewish" is the tzedakah, a small box that is placed in a corner that is filled a little every day. As the Rebbe said, tzedakah: “redefines the entire space. It’s no longer just a house or an office. It is a center of kindness and compassion. »
Use tzedakah well:
● Place the tzedakah strategically so that it is most exposed in the office and/or at home.
● Get in the habit, every day, of putting a few coins in the box. Make this grandiose act the central event of your day.
Every day. (Except on Shabbat and Yom Tov, when handling money is prohibited.)
● When the box is full, choose a good cause.
● And start again...
